My research examines the formulation of corporate strategies in dynamic, complex, and uncertain contexts. Perhaps the most elaborate contexts for organizations are their social, natural and global environments, which lead them to formulate (a) sustainability strategies and (b) international strategies. My research specifically investigates these contexts, which has lead me to ask three questions:
• How do firms develop competitive strategies while also being mindful of their social and natural environments?
• How do firms formulate locally relevant strategies that build on their global competencies?
• How do sustainability and international strategies intersect?
My ultimate research objective is to expand our knowledge of the relationship between corporate strategy and the contexts of firms, such that corporate activity achieves a stronger alignment with social, natural and global environments.
